Privacy policy

This policy explains what the National Private and Boarding Schools' Association Nepal, Kathmandu district committee (N-PABSAN Kathmandu) collects through this website, why it is collected, and how long it is kept.

WHAT WE COLLECT WHEN A SCHOOL ENTERS THE COMPETITION The entry form asks for the school name, address and email address; the name and mobile number of the principal and of the dance teacher; the title and description of the dance; and the payment reference and amount. It also asks for the name, class and IEMIS number of every student in the team.

FILES A SCHOOL UPLOADS The school logo, the song as an mp3, the payment slip or voucher, and a photograph of each student. These files are stored on the association’s server, outside the public web directory. They are not published and are not readable from a public web address.

WHY WE COLLECT IT To run the competition: to verify that the entry fee has been paid, to create the portal login the school uses, to check that each performer is a student of the entering school, to play the correct music on the day, and to compile and publish results.

WHO CAN SEE IT Members of the organising committee and the association office. Judges see the school and its performance in order to score it. The public scoreboard shows school names and scores only — it does not show student names, IEMIS numbers, photographs, contact numbers or payment details. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHS AND PARENTAL CONSENT A school that submits an entry confirms that it holds the consent of the parent or guardian of every student listed. Photographs are used for identification and for the association’s record of the event. A parent or school may ask us to remove a photograph at any time.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT Entry records and uploads are kept for the competition year and for the association’s own records afterwards. Half-finished entries that are never submitted are deleted automatically after one day.

WEBSITE TRAFFIC To understand which public pages are useful, the site records page views, an approximate device and browser category, the referring website, and a country code when the hosting network supplies one. The internet address and browser details are converted into a salted one-way visitor code; the raw internet address and full browser identifier are not stored. Traffic records are visible only to administrators and are deleted after 180 days. The tracker respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

COOKIES The site sets one cookie, and only after a successful login: a session cookie that keeps a school, judge or administrator signed in. It is HTTP-only, restricted to this site, and expires on sign-out. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

YOUR RIGHTS Write to the association to see, correct or ask us to delete what we hold about your school or a student, or to withdraw a photograph. Reach us at info@npabsankathmandu.org, or through the district office listed on the contact page.

CHANGES If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page. Entries already submitted remain covered by the policy that was in force when they were submitted.
